HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

SIGN IN and CANCEL PROCEDURES:
January brings more students to class, and we want to maximize your chance of getting into the class you want! Always sign up for class on the MindBody App to ensure you have a spot. You can sign up 7 days in advance. If you cannot make a class you have scheduled, please cancel via the App as soon as you can. You must cancel your class at least 4 hours before class to avoid a penalty. If you “late cancel” or “no-show” for class, you will be charged a $15 penalty. The last thing we want to do is charge you a fee! This system is meant to incentivize attendance responsibility so that someone on the waiting list may take class. So, help out your fellow yogi and free-up your space if you are not attending a scheduled class.
SPACE IN CLASS
We have removed the tape markers on the floor, but class size is still somewhat limited to prevent over-crowding. The front row accommodates 10 spaces; the middle and back rows accommodate 11 each. This ensures proper spacing from side to side.
MAT PLACEMENT
Please place your mat so that the black line on the floor cuts your mat in half. Position your feet in the middle of your mat, so that your feet are in line with the black line on the floor. This ensures proper spacing from front to back.
We are looking forward to another fabulous year with you at 360 Yoga Charleston! You are never too out of shape, too stiff, too broken, or too anything(!), to come to class and start again. We will welcome you with sincere gratitude and enthusiasm, and help you feel better with a great class!

Relax and Recharge with Our Candlelight Yin and Nidra
Come and relax with candlelight while you recharge your mind and body with Yin yoga deep tissue stretches.  Slow down and go deeper into the full body, opening up tight joints and increasing your mobility.  Then move from deep stretching into a full mind and body Nidra resting meditation.  Come out floating on air, rested and recharged.
Balance the Body with Yin Yoga
Do you have tight hips, wake up with a stiff back, or lower back pain?  Are you actively exercising but find you struggle to deepen your skills and postures?  You might find that your exercise is all Yang, or muscular based, and not enough Yin, which is deep tissue focused.  You’re not alone.  Most of us need to balance our Yang with more Yin.
What is Yin Yoga?
Yin yoga is the lesser known counterpart to an active Yang yoga practice.  Yang yoga includes active yoga postures that are about engaging, strengthening, and compressing muscle tissues. Think Hot 26&2 or Vinyasa Flow.  The focus is in creating balance and strength.
Yin yoga focuses on the other half of our tissues, the deeper connective tissues.  Think white tissues like ligaments, tendons, fascia. These tissues should be hydrated and elastic for a healthy body. They should “slide and glide,” allowing us comfortable mobility. As we age, these are the tissues that become stiffer and decrease our mobility.  Yin Yoga is about focusing on deep tissue stretching and compressing for healthy joints and mobility.
Both Yin and Yang yoga bring a sense of mindful focus and lead to relaxation. Both are powered collaboratively with our breath. However, Yin yoga guides us to stretch in passive postures, allowing softening, strengthening and hydration of the deep tissues.
The Yin and Yang practices work together in a necessary balance.  If muscles are very strong, but connective tissues are stiff, this leads to tightness and injuries at a deep tissue level. If deep tissues are open and loose but muscles are weak, this can lead to over stretching of muscles and, again, injuries can occur.
Solution? Create your Yin-Yang beautiful body balance. Keep your body working in harmony by bringing the elements that you need.

Mind & Body Fitness Challenge is Starting Now

We are Greeting Spring
With a Total Mind & Body Fitness Challenge!
Welcome to the first ever 360 Yoga Spring Challenge. Do your fitness and health goals need a little spark? Perhaps January resolutions have faded? We got you! We have designed a program to motivate and inspire you to greater fitness in both body and spirit.

360 Mind & Body Spring Challenge
This Challenge will encompass 3 targets:
Yoga, Diet and Mindfulness:
Set a Yoga Class Intention
Identify a Dietary Goal
Envision a Mindfulness Practice

YOGA CLASS INTENTION: Set a specific, achievable intention to take class a certain number of times each week. It could be 1, 2, 7 or more classes per week. Even 1 class is a perfect start!
DIETARY GOAL: Do you have a food vice you want to reduce or eliminate? Hmmm … that 2nd glass of wine, excess sugar, snacks mid-afternoon, processed foods. Maybe you just want to increase healthy habits such as eating more vegetables/fruits, juicing, or doing a program such as the Whole 30 plan or a plant-based diet. Keep in mind that “every day” is not required; set a realistic goal and build from there. Your positive health changes will get stronger and stronger.
MINDFULNESS PRACTICE: Envision a few minutes in your day when you stop the “monkey-mind” and bring yourself to a calming focus. There are infinite ways to do this: traditional meditations, affirmations, intentional breathing, stillness, or taking a walk in nature. We are excited to help you find something that feeds your spirit!
Your individual program will look something like this, with your own individual goals:

When Do We Start?
You can start as soon as you like! Challenge Charts will be available at the front desk this week. You can start next week, or choose your own week to start.
How Long is the Mind & Body Challenge?
This is up to you and the goals you set for yourself! Each Challenge Chart holds up to 7 weeks, but you can set your own target timeline — including more than 7 weeks! New habits take about 30 days to install, so be ambitious and aim for lasting health habits!
Are We Having Any FUN Along the Way?
Yes, of course! Your participation in the 360 Mind & Body Spring Challenge will get you PRIORITY ACCESS and DISCOUNTS to some special classes in April:

Sound Healing April 28th
Presented by Austin Shook, of Alignment Sound Energy
Sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being. Sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies. Come let healing processes be initiated by the unique tones of this sound bath, creating the perfect state for deep meditation, creative thinking and intuition.
Wake up your ability to hear as you bathe in the sounds of singing bowls, the Handpan, flutes, and gongs. Let go and simply receive the harmonies and vibrations washing over you.
Austin will play an array of instruments to aid you in achieving deep relaxation as you dive into the parasympathetic state of your nervous system. With the aid of these instruments, space will be held for you to connect with the deeper aspects of yourself. This experience is an invitation to enter into your own essence, deeply connect with your body through ethereal sound vibration; to release, soften, unwind, envision and meditate.
Join us for this unique event on Wednesday,
April 28th at 7:00 pm
$40, Space is Limited, Sign Up early!

As of now, all of this digital content will be provided
to everyone
for free.
… at some point, depending on the duration of this crisis, this arrangement might have to change so that 360 Yoga can survive the storm. But for now, let’s go forward in this way so we can all stay stretchy, strong and sane.
Membership Fees and Class Pass Expirations
Membership Fees will be Suspended, and Class Passes will be extended if we must stay closed beyond 2 weeks time. This will occur automatically and you do not need to contact the studio.
So stay tuned for Online and Youtube Class information. We will try our best to keep you moving and engaged during quarantine! We send our best wishes to you for staying well.
