I’ve never practiced yoga and I’m a little nervous. Do you have a special class for me?

All of our classes are designed for beginners. Everyone from the novice to the experienced yogi is welcome in our classes. There’s no reason to be nervous about your first class; it’s where everyone begins.

Do I need to sign up online?

Signing up for class online is encouraged to make sure you have a spot in class. Download the “MindBody” App on your phone, and then search for “360 Yoga Charleston.” Once you create an account, you can sign up for classes, cancel a reservation, buy classes, and more. Arrive at the studio 15 minutes before class time. Tell our friendly front desk staff it’s your first time…we will do everything we can to make you feel welcome and get you all set for class!

What do I need to bring?

A yoga mat, large towel and bottle of water. We also have these available to rent or buy.
Please don’t bring your cell phone, wallet, keys, handbag, etc. into the hot room. We provide free lockers and keys to store your personal belongings.

What should I wear to class?

Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing: tank tops, sports bra, breathable tees, yoga shorts or running shorts. Avoid pants, sweats and long-sleeves. Undergarments or see-through garments are not permitted in the yoga room.

What should I eat or drink before, during, and after class?

Come to class on an empty stomach – but don’t starve yourself! You’ll burn an insane amount of calories in class, so your body needs fuel to go! Most people find they need to allow 2 hours between eating and taking class. However, some students need to eat “a little something” (like a piece of fruit, granola bar, nuts, etc.) an hour or so before class. As you practice this yoga, you will quickly find what’s right for you. Please come to class well-hydrated. You should drink a lot of water throughout the day. Once class begins, hold off on water until “party time” – this is about 20 minutes into class and allows your body to heat up and your mind to stay focused.

What are your prices?

Start with our very best deal: The Unlimited Intro Month –a full month of unlimited yoga for only $75 (a single class is $25), and a free mat rental on your first day. Local and permanent residents only. This special offer is available to new students who are permanent residents in the local area. For more information about pricing, see our Rates page.

How often should I practice?

Everyone is different. Some students practice occasionally and some practice every day! For a regular, effective practice, aim for 2 -5 times a week. The more often you practice, the quicker you see results. Sometimes it takes a few classes for your body to become acclimated to exercising in a heated environment. The more often you practice, the quicker you become acclimated.  We encourage new students to practice often from the beginning.  You’ll be amazed at how soon you crave this yoga every day.

I run or do other forms of exercise. Should I do Bikram yoga, too?

Yes! Bikram yoga is excellent for helping align and strengthen your body, and it’s a great compliment to other forms of exercise. Many athletes practice Bikram yoga to heal and recover from the stress their bodies experience while performing high-impact sports or other workouts.

Can I practice yoga with an old/new injury?

Yes! Bikram yoga helps heal old injuries and prevent new ones. The heat is therapeutic for your muscles, joints, and tissue.  For existing injuries and medical conditions, the healing process can be supported by the continued practice of Bikram yoga. We ask students to notify the instructor so she can help you during class and make sure we’ve placed an alert in your file. The general guide when practicing with an injury is: take it easy, listen to your body, and perform postures to your tolerance level. Sharp, pinpoint pain should be avoided—that’s when you should back off! Also, please consult your doctor about physical exercise with regard to your unique injury.

Who Can Practice?

  • Ages 12 – 18 can practice the entire series.
  • Ages 8 – 12 can practice the floor series only, for $10 per class.

If the child is under 12, he or she must be able to manage themselves in the lobby area when not in class (during the standing series). Children must have a way of entertaining themselves while waiting to join the group for the floor series. We suggest that your child bring a book to read, homework, or a tablet (with headphones). Parents are responsible for the safety and actions of their children.

Can I bring my child to the yoga studio with me?

We do not have child care available in the studio. But, you may bring your child to take class if they meet the minimum age requirements. Students may not bring their children to the studio to watch or wait for the parent, while the parent practices.

Where is your studio located?

Our studio is located at 1141 Bowman Road in Mt. Pleasant. It is near the intersection of Highway 17 and I-526. We have free parking in our studio lot.
