Sherri Ginger was born and raised in Thomaston, Connecticut. As a dancer since the age of 2, and dance instructor since the age of 15, her love of fitness, health and body movement has always been second nature. At the age of 17 she joined the USAF, attended flight school and achieved a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Trying to balance the stress of the military, flight school, college and a first heartbreak, at the age of 19 a friend dragged her into a Bikram Yoga class in New Smyrna Beach, Florida where her life was changed forever.
As an officer and pilot in the Air Force for nearly 10-years, Sherri has traveled/lived all around the world. From 2008-2011 Sherri was based in Charleston and found our Bikram Yoga studio as a place to escape the hustle and bustle of her stressful career. Now as an International Airline Pilot for Delta Air Lines she chose to move back to Charleston in 2019 to settle down near friends and her parents. Over the years she’s tried several other health/fitness avenues to keep a healthy mind and body, such as Marathon Running and CrossFit Coaching; but not until a car accident in 2023 left her grasping for answers on how to heal her body, did she truly recognize the complete physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing that a Bikram Yoga practice provides. In 2023 Sherri achieved her Hot Yoga “26-2” Hatha Yoga Instructor Certification in Bali (a goal since her first class at age 19). Her 20 years of practice of this moving meditation shines through in her joy, love and excitement to help others in their practice. We are so excited to have her as part of our team.
