Hurricane Matthew Schedule
Our Hurricane Schedule is yet to be determined and will be published by Thursday evening at the latest. Please stay posted as we keep watch on the projected path of Matthew. Prayers for dissipation, weakening, and a hard right turn!
How Can I Get Quick Information about Studio News and Updates?
We publish news, schedule changes, events and other information on 4 different media platforms:
1. Email, from the studio to you. If you do not currently get our emails, please sign up at the front desk or email us at: info@bikramcharleston.com.
2. Instagram. If this term is a little scary, have one of your kids set you up with an Instagram account (it’s free). Then, search for bikramyogacharleston and “follow” us. Finally, turn on Post Notifications (again, see your kid). That way, you will get a prompt notice (just like a missed call) that we posted something.
3. Website. Go to www.bikramcharleston.com, hover over “Our Studio,” click on “Bikram Buzz” to see the latest updates. I think you’ve got this one down already.
4. Facebook. Go to fb and search Bikram Yoga Charleston. There are a few old decoy pages floating through the internet; the correct page is the one with the picture of the hands together in a circle (see above). Check for the latest posts … and feel free to post a comment yourself!
Our low-tech information dissemination systems include:
1. Announcements from the podium.
2. Chalk Boards in the lobby and locker rooms — take a glance every day!
We strive to keep you informed!
Upcoming Yin Classes / Slight Pilates Schedule Change
YIN CLASS
Our next Yin classes will be held:

We apologize for canceling the Sept 27th Yin class.
Yin classes are free to AutoPay and Annual members.
If you haven’t yet tried one of these classes, please don’t hesitate! Yin postures are all floor stretches (no standing work), and they are designed to promote greater flexibility. In this 1 hour class, beginner postures are held for long intervals to enable the deep, penetrating stretch of muscles, tissues and facia. Yin stretching is a great compliment to your Bikram practice, enhancing your flexibility in all postures.

YOGA NIDRA
New Time for Regular Nidra Classes: Every Wednesday at 12:15
Yoga Nidra — also known as “Yogic Sleep” or sleep with awareness — is an ancient practice that is rapidly becoming popular in the west. Its purpose is to induce complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation, and create a deep meditative state of consciousness. Yoga Nidra is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining fully consciousness. The practice can be used to tune into your intuition, to set intentions, or to merely set the rest of the world aside for a while and sink into deep relaxation.
Yoga Nidra Details:
20-30 minutes long
Every Wednesday at 12:15
Room is “cooled” to about 85
Practitioners lay still on their backs (a mat is nice)
Sam leads us through the conscious sleep practice
FREE FOR EVERYONE
Next Nidra Class is Aug. 31st, 12:15 – 12:45
