on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 10:30. The work shop will run approximately 2 – 2.5 hours and will take you through all the postures and flow transitions in sequence.

Space for the work shop will be limited, so please sign up at the studio as soon as possible.

In the new Bikram Flow class, you will recognize the Bikram holds within a moving series incorporating plank work, chaturanga, downward dog, warrior, sun salutations and more. This is a challenging class that you are going to love! Classes will run 60 to 75 minutes.

Bikram Flow classes will be on the New & Improved Regular Schedule starting Monday, Sep. 16th! (New schedule to be published very soon.)

Will Regular Classes be Dropped? No, no, and no. We are first and foremost a Bikram Yoga studio, and Bikram classes will continue to dominate the schedule. We will never abandon the 26 & 2 series. As with our Yin classes, the Bikram Flow classes will be offered in addition to our regular classes you know and love.

Our staff has been developing this new class for many weeks and we think we have perfected it for you!

The Location of the Studio will Change this Fall

This fall the studio location will be moved to central
Mt. Pleasant, at
1141 Bowman Road

WHERE IS THAT? It is near the intersection of I-526 and Hwy 17, on Bowman Road across the street from the Dick’s Sporting Goods shopping area. Go seethe new building currently under construction next door to Sam Schirmer Insurance!
WHY? First, we want Bikram Yoga to be available to our community forever. While the studio has been marginally successful thus far, the cost of renting our current location in is not sustainable over the long term. Second, we want the studio to serve all of the Charleston area as much as possible. This location will continue to serve Mt. Pleasant, as well as be easier for students coming from downtown, West Ashley, Daniel Island and Summerville.

HOW WILL THE NEW STUDIO COMPARE TO OUR CURRENT SPACE? We are aiming to provide better function and more beauty. The hot room will be very spacious, with a state of the art heating system, and windows for natural light. Although the total studio square-footage will be slightly smaller, the space will mainly be subtracted from current storage areas, wasted space, and retail. The studio will still provide clean, beautiful locker rooms, and a welcoming entry-way and lobby. The studio will be on the second floor, with large windows in the lobby, providing a feeling of airy privacy.

WILL THERE BE ANY CHANGES? Yes! We will be offering more class times! And, we want your input on the best time for classes!  Please look for the large survey charts in the studio and write down your choice of best class times on weekdays and weekends.

We are very excited for our new location and we hope
you are as well!

Bikram Yoga

When I am happy
I go to Bikram Yoga.
When I am unhappy
I go to Bikram Yoga
Because it will make me happy.

When my body is fit
I go to Bikram Yoga
And enjoy stretching and bending
As far as I can.
When my body aches,
I go to Bikram Yoga
Because it alleviates or dissolves all pain
From headaches, back pain, to digestive issues,
Just to name a few.

When I feel joyful
I go to Bikram Yoga
And share a few words with someone who just seems to need them.
When I feel sad and lonely
I go to Bikram Yoga
Because there is always a teacher or a student with a warm smile or a few caring and wise words.

Even though I started Bikram Yoga
At age 58 with no ballet or gymnastic experience and a stiff body,
I discovered within a few weeks that my body could stretch and hold postures I had thought would take three lifetimes.

Even though I have a slim body, I still lose a couple of pounds when I attend classes 3-4 times  a week.  It is an intense and powerful practice.

Bikram Yoga boosts the metabolism, restores the body flexibility, improves memory and sleep, centers the mind (or you lose the balance in the posture), grounds the whole person, and brings peace.

Right after each class, my posture is straighter, my skin glows, and I have much more physical and mental energy to complete my to-do list of the day.

Bikram Yoga changed my life for the better.
Just try it!

There is no better day than a day with Bikram Yoga.

Yes

A note to students in the downtown and West Ashley areas,

All of us at Bikram Yoga Charleston would like to acknowledge the unfortunate closing of the Redux studio. As devotees to the hot yoga practices, we are disheartened by this development. We believe that more yoga in the world is a good thing, and we welcome you to practice with us in Mount Pleasant if you so choose. It is always disappointing when a yoga studio closes its doors, especially when the location or style suited you best.
At Bikram Yoga Charleston, we offer the traditional 26 and 2 Bikram series in 90 minute, 75 minute and 60 minute class options. We also offer Yin(stretching classes), which conclude with Nidra (guided relaxation). Coming soon, we are planning to add Vinyasa classes as well. For continued learning and growth, we offer at least one workshop per year with a master instructor (Esak Garcia was here last month). Additionally, our staff-led workshops (such as yoga for weight loss, Detox seminar, and Ayurvedic teachings) offered throughout the year are FREE for AutoPay and Annual members.
Also, by the end of the year, our location will be changing to central Mt. Pleasant, at 1141 Bowman Road, near the intersection of Hwy 17 and 526. We are all very excited for our new location!
So if you find yourself looking for a hot room, give us a call or drop in for class. All of our staff will be delighted to see you and welcome you to Bikram Yoga Charleston!
